Belgians have the most faith in the news from L’Echo & De Tijd
In 2018, market research agency Kantar gauged for the first time the trust that Belgians had in their own news brands. This ‘trust barometer’ was conducted again in 2021. The study was conducted among 2980 Belgians.
As in 2018, both L’Echo and De Tijd again received the most trust from Belgians. Belgians’ trust is also higher in traditional media than in social media. A total of 39 Belgian news brands were included in the study, including newspaper titles, magazines, radio and television stations and social media.
The research also once again establishes that there is a high correlation (0.85) between trust in the news brand and trust in advertisements that appear in that news media. Trust in the news brand thus also radiates to the trust in advertisements.
